Join us for this five-week online course to uncover meaningful ways to cultivate a robust presence in our trembling world.

“The world and the gods are dead or alive according to the condition of our souls.” ~ James Hillman

We are living in anxious times. Uncertainty has come into our homes and found its way into our lives. This five-part online program is an invitation to explore multiple ways to foster a soulful life in the midst of uncertainty. What was once stable and familiar has been shaken, and we have entered a steep descent into the unknown. Daily, we receive news of the latest frightening climate report, of violations to our human and more-than-human kin, the lingering impacts of the pandemic, and tragedies in all parts of the world. Our psyches are inundated. The scale of suffering and loss is hard for us to comprehend. What can we do to stay present and open to our lives and to the world?

The condition of our souls does matter. It is the soul that offers us a deeper ground, one rooted in community, beauty, imagination, myth, ritual, the ancestors, and the sacred. These are foundational practices that provide ballast in the midst of the storm. It is through an ongoing engagement with matters central to the soul that our lives are fortified and strengthened. Sustained attention and the courage to live fully allow the moods and longings of the soul to connect us to the deep stream of the sacred.

The weekly structure will include core teachings, instructions in multiple practices, poetry, homework to vitalize the material between sessions, and an invitation to share your experience with others in the course.

Topics include: The Alchemy of Soul-Making l Anima Mundi l Entering the Underworld l Night Work l Drinking the Tears of the World l Cultivating our Imaginal Lives l Myth, Story & Dream l Building the House of Belonging l Primary Satisfactions l Toward a World Ensouled l Following the Wisdom Trail l The Necessity of Creativity l Courting the Ancestors l Restoring Soul to the World
